The BS stands for The British Standard. British Standards Institution; BSI) the world's first national standardization body. A non-profit civil society organization recognized and supported by the British government, founded in 1901 and headquartered in London. BS certification mark is equal to product safety mark, products exported to the UK must meet the BS standard safety requirements or other safety requirements. For products that have been tested and certified by BSI or its approved laboratory, the vendor has the right to attach a "Kite" mark or label to the product to prove its BS safety certification. The Kite mark (i.e. THE BS Certification mark) is a vivid and easily recognizable mark that also has promotional value for the product.

2. BS certification product categories
The British BS certification is the entry permit for electronic and electrical products to enter the British market. The following products are the ones that most domestic factories apply for BS certification:
- Household Appliances (White & Black)
- Consumer electronics
- Controller switch
- IT equipment
- Lamps and lanterns
The British BS certificate can be applied separately, or it is very convenient to apply for full employment through CB certificate & Report. It should be noted that the actual voltage used in The UK is 240V, so it is recommended that the voltage be marked 220-240V on the product label and operation manual.
3. BS certification factory review and other matters needing attention
The factory review before the sub-certification and regular or irregular supervision and review after the certification. Prior to the factory audit, the company will assist the manufacturer in self-checking the production facilities, laboratory equipment, metrology and overall quality system against BSI requirements. If the inspectors put forward the rectification requirements during the inspection, the company will assist the manufacturer to discuss and implement the rectification measures as soon as possible until the reinspection is qualified.
